Being is the moniker of Birmingham based artist and illustrator Phil Baker. Built on a foundation of personal life experiences and his observations of the world around him, Being uses art as a medium to stimulate curiosity, provoke thought and spark discussion. His unconventional yet captivating work has a ’stick it to the man’ feel about it, often challenging the norms of society and encouraging viewers to question their surroundings. He combines a plethora of juxtaposing styles, including urban graffiti, graphic design, chaotic abstraction, psychedelia and comic art, all forged together in ambiguous compositions creating a real tension with a punk aesthetic which undoubtedly catches the eye.
